october dreams are in my future.

Is it seriously almost the end of September already? The month has flown by!

I was watching 50 First Dates on TV yesterday. I cried at the end. It was on again today, and I cried at the end again. I'm a sucker for sappy happy love endings! I think the thing that got me about this movie is that he goes through so much trouble just to be with her everyday. It's crazy. It made me think of all the stuff we do when we love someone. As crazy as it is, we still do it, because the rewards outweigh the struggles.

I saw the new Macy's commercial the other day. It's the one with clips from all these movies and shows where the characters talk about Macy's. It made me realize how long it's been around and what an impact it's had on our culture. Plus, the idea of the commercial of clips is pretty good.

The gas crisis is getting out of hand around here. So many stations are completely out, with yellow bags covering the pumps. The ones that do have gas are limiting the amount you can buy and have lines out to the roads waiting. It's nuts.

t.g.i.f.

Happy Friday!

Last night was the season premiere of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy. I have to say that sitting in front of a television for 3 hours straight and actually paying full attention is hard. But I would be lying if I said I actually did that, because I was on my computer most of the time.

Either way, I still felt like the time dragged on, especially during the 2 hour premiere of Grey's Anatomy. There just wasn't enough action throughout the whole show to keep me that entertained, but I guess I shouldn't expect much since it was season openers and not finales. However, the music was good as always, so I spent most of the time trying to figure out who the songs and artists were.

There were some good picks on this episode. I love 'Jungle Drum' by Emiliana Torrini (she just released a new album) and 'Crazy Ever After' by The Rescues.

I found this story today about Palin in a cornfield. Some people are either creative or just have a lot of time on their hands...or maybe both.

to tee or not to tee?

Several years ago I heard about someone making a quilt out of old t-shirts. I thought it was a neat idea. Now there's a company that does it for you, or you can make one by yourself if you're crafty.

This is awesome! I am fascinated by stingrays. I think it's because I got to touch one at Ripley's Aquarium one time.

Archer Farms S'mores trail mix from Target is amazing.

On MSN search today was 'Project Runway' spoilers. I am a huge PR fan, but I clicked it anyway because I can't stand suspense. It's really not spoilers. They just told who showed at New York Fashion Week, which doesn't really tell us anything because they always have decoys since the season isn't over yet. But they predicted who would win based on web search results. Then the person they predicted would win got voted off tonight. So much for that theory. A high number of search results could be positive or negative when it comes to reality shows.

what day is it?

Tuesdays are music days!

Marc Broussard's new album Keep Coming Back came out today. He was on Conan O'Brien last night. I saw Marc last April and he sang a song he wrote for his daughter called 'Evangeline Rose.' I found a video of him singing it on Paste Magazine's YouTube channel. It's a beautiful song.

Check out some of the others artists while you're there, including John Butler, Katie Herzig, Matthew Perryman Jones, and Slow Runner.

The other day I found Noise Trade, which allows you to email 5 friends and then download an album from their list for free. I thought it was a neat idea, so I went on to reap the benefits of free music. Check it out!

I also recommend downloading The Republic Tigers single 'Buildings and Mountains' on iTunes. It's one of the free downloads of the week. Owner of Chop Shop Records Alexandra Patsavas, who used to be the music supervisor for 'The O.C.', and currently work on 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Gossip Girl' among other shows, signed The Republic Tigers as her first band on the label.

music monday.

I watched One Tree Hill and they played 'Feels Like Letting Go' by Matthew Perryman Jones. I love this song. I first heard of Matthew several months ago when I listened to a live concert online. He's amazing.

They also played 'Quiet In My Town' by Civil Twilight, who are from South Africa but live in Nashville? (I think they moved...they used to live in Greenville, SC). They are fabulous. They also had a song called 'Human' that was on an episode of House that aired after the Super Bowl in January and on an episode of Without A Trace in April.

I also love the song from the new Apple Nano commercial. It's called 'Bruises' by Chairlift.

So I went to the MySpace homepage this morning and what did I see? Jay Clifford's music video for 'Know When To Walk Away' directed by Zach Braff is on the front page! Aaaahhh!!! If you haven't listened to Jay before, here's your chance to hear a amazingly talented artist. Check out his music video!

'everything's gonna be alright...'

Today I walked into Barnes & Noble and heard a familiar song playing. It was Peter Bradley Adams, one of my new favorite artists. He just released a new EP (august 5, 2008) that is phenomenal! I first heard a live concert of him several months ago and couldn't believe how wonderful he sounded.

I always have been afraid to pick my own mushrooms. I think this is why.

I was watching VH1 classic music videos during the 5 o'clock hour. NKOTB's 'You Got It (The Right Stuff)' invokes nostalgia for my childhood, yet it's fantastically humorous in my adult mind. So ridiculous, yet I guess the things you remember sometimes are.

It was a Paula Deen's mac and cheese night!
