and so it begins...
Tonight we welcome college football season. Hooray! Last year my cousin and I found this koozie at a store in Savannah that said "We interrupt this marriage to bring you football season." She bought it for her husband. I couldn't find it online, but if you're going to host a football party, maybe these napkins will suffice. Check out the other neat gifts Mary Phillips Designs (based out of Raleigh, NC but sold nationwide) has on their site while you're there.

a kind word.
I had to read this several times before I got it. "The kindest word in all the world is the unkind word, unsaid." It's Thursday, and when I woke up this morning I thought it was Friday, so I'm a little slow today.
Some of my favorite sounds:
1. coffee pot
2. rain on my window
3. violin concertos in Atlanta Bread Company
4. owls hooting
5. bagpipes
My friend was telling me about Pamela DeWitt, who creates Crazed Glass. This is truly innovative art you have to see for yourself.

$118 boots?
A few months ago I was watching TLC's My Shocking Story: Half Man, Half Tree about Dede, who has what look like tree branches growing on his skin. An update!
I want a pair of these boots... Too bad they are $118.
Yesterday I spent an hour and a half watching E! True Hollywood Story: Rock Star Wives again, mainly because 5pm is the most boring hour on television and I am a TV zombie sometimes. I could go into a whole spiel about what my thoughts are on that particular show, but honestly I don't know what to say. I never watch that kind of stuff (except in aforementioned situations). I don't know whether to envy them or not. Probably not. But I do wish they would've interviewed a wider variety of musician's wives. Rolling Stone did this article on Perla (Slash's wife) that mentioned the show.
Yes, I am excited One Tree Hill is starting its 6th season on Monday. I am not a die hard fan of this show, but I have caught reruns of episodes from the 4th season on SOAPnet and scoured the internet to catch up with season five.
Speaking of SOAPnet, they have these commercials featuring Nikka Costa's song "Everybody Got Their Something." Each shows a celebrity that loves a particular soap. Seriously? Does Billy Currington really love General Hospital?
I got word in July that one of my favorite stores Steve & Barry's went bankrupt. This saddened me because they carry Sarah Jessica Parker's line Bitten and I like their jeans. But I found this today so hopefully my local branch will stay open!
I'm so glad this rumor was not true. I love Dolly.

new judge.
'American Idol' has added a new judge to the panel....I don't know how I feel about this. In some ways I think should they mess with a good thing? I mean, they've had seven seasons without four judges, why change things now? But maybe it really won't make that much difference. Once it gets to the point where people are voting, I don't really know how much the judges really matter anyway.
