what's that smell?

HAPPY OCTOBER!!

The other night we were watching The Bucket List. There's a part where Morgan Freeman's character Carter says there was a survey where they asked people if it were possible to know the exact day and time of their death, would they want to know? 96% said no. I was thinking about it, and I have to say I agree. I feel like I'm the type of person who procrastinates so much that I could see myself making a bucket list and then waiting until the last couple days before I die to do everything, and of course I wouldn't get to everything because I'm a bad judge of how long it takes to do things. But the other side to that is I would probably not be who I am or do things the same if I knew when I would die. I don't think anyone would. I guess that could be both a good and bad thing, though.

I was recently introduced to the new fragrance at Bath & Body Works called Black Amethyst, which smells absolutely fabulous. But I do have a problem with the name. Amethyst is a rock. It doesn't have a smell, so I'd like to know what the smell really comes from.

Some of my favorite scents from B&BW include Cool Citrus Basil, Midnight Pomegranate, Cherry Blossom, Coconut Lime Verbena, Green Clover and Aloe, Rainkissed Leaves, Warm Vanilla Sugar, Lemongrass Sage, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. Of course, most of these smells make me think of certain times of the year, or of memories or people I associate with them. The way I associate certain smells is the same way I think of songs, which always take me back to certain times of my life.

Cherry Blossom makes me think of visiting my aunt and uncle because the first time I smelled it was the soap they had in the bathroom. Coconut Lime Verbena makes me think of the week we spent at the beach the first summer that scent came out. Warm Vanilla Sugar makes me think of the holidays because it reminds me of making and frosting cookies. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin makes me think of fall, of course.
