american literature.

"Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise." ~Author Unknown

I found some articles the other day about the upcoming picks for the Nobel Prize for literature (AP article and Telegraph article). I think it will be interesting to see who wins after the uproar about the comments made by Horace Engdahl. Here's what an American abroad has to say about it.

I really don't have anything to say. I read what I like. Most of my favorite books and authors usually write stories that can span generations, but also hold something that can be learned about the time period in which they are written.

We'll have to wait until Thursday, October 9 to see what happens.
