Today my friend said "Wasn't American Idol just a huge David Archuleta love fest last night?" Seriously. Despite the fact that he won the coin toss and went second (at this point does it really matter?) everything was obviously geared in his favor, starting with the comments from the judges. Cook performed a superb version of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," which garnered praise from the judges, but paled in comparison to their comments for Archuleta's version of "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me." Honestly, I thought it was boring, and sounded like all the other songs he's sang over the last 3 months. We obviously were hearing two different things. The ongoing boxing theme was getting old after the first 10 minutes of the show, but the awful charade continued until the end much to my disappointment.
